Privacy
The short version: no account, no email, and no tracking cookies. Two of our tools send what you type to a server to do their job, and this page explains exactly which ones and what happens, described as it actually works today.
What this site is
GoCheckMyPet is a mostly static website. Reading articles, browsing product picks, and comparing insurers all happen in your browser, with no account to create and no form that emails us your information. Two tools are different because they need a server to work: the Pet Health Check and the Recall Checker. Both are described below.
The Pet Health Check
When you request a Pet Health Check, the answers you enter (such as your pet's age, breed, and the concerns you describe) are sent through our server to Anthropic, the AI provider whose model writes your educational summary. This step is what makes the summary possible. We do not require your name or email to use the tool, and you should not type your own personal details into the free-text box. We do not sell these answers, and there is no account that stores them for you to log back into.
The Recall Checker
When you search the Recall Checker, the brand or product term you enter is sent to our server, which queries the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's public recall data on your behalf and returns the matching records. The search runs server-side so your browser never has to call the FDA directly. We do not require any personal information to search, and the tool stores no personal information about you.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless tool, to understand aggregate traffic: page views, referring sites, general country-level location, and device or browser type. It is our only analytics tool. It does not set cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by Netlify, with Cloudflare in front of it. As the hosting and network providers, they process standard technical request data, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, in their server logs to deliver and secure the site under their own privacy policies. The serverless functions behind the Pet Health Check and Recall Checker run on this same hosting.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, you go to a third party that has its own privacy practices, and the partner may record that the referral came from this site. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
If you contact us
If you email us or choose to subscribe to updates, we use your information only for the purpose you contacted us about, and we will never sell or share your personal information.
Children
This site is intended for adults caring for their pets. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Do we sell your data?
No. Beyond the aggregate, cookieless analytics described above, and the technical logs kept by our hosting providers, there is no personal information collected here to sell or share.
